River Tryweryn Trip
30th September 2007

Report by Ian Sargent

I thought the Tryweryn trip was a great success, because of the way everyone chiped in to help. From the moment we got to the LOPC I kept thinking this is going too well. everyone on time except Anton all boats loaded quickly and to my great suprise Anton got one over on me by being late but having his boat already loaded,
the roads were fairly clear, so the timing went well. then everyone on the water (ok the groups didn't quite get on the right order). the weather was good and everyone enjoyed themselves and most importantly got something out of it.We even managed to get back to the centre within minutes of each other.

Having organised the Tryweryn trip I would like to say to anyone else that is thinking that they would like to do more trips, organising a trip is not that hard. I am not a level 3 coach I have not organised a trip this big before (I never expected to get so many interested) I found everyone supportive and helpfull.
All most of these types of trip need is somebody to keep pushing it. It is not fair to rely on the same people all the time to organise trips. We take these people for granted week in week out running the

Thursday sessions and with the pool sessions coming up you will expect the same people to be there too.
If you want more, I know from the reaction to the Tryweryn trip that there are alot of you that wish to challenge your paddling skills, then lets organise it ourselves.(it is a club is it not) start with trips like Nene whitewater centre, you do not need to be a coach to go there and there are now a group capable of going there on their own.If you are up for Holmepierpoint there are a other club members willing to go so post it on soar point. Matlock, Swarkstone these are all fairly local, if you wish to go ask and organise.
If you wish to organise a trip or have any ideas for a trip then don't be afraid to ask for help Paddleplus will be supportive in everyway,
You can do it to you don't need to wait for somone else to.
