Club Information
Adult Session
Every Thursday evening throughout the year the club meets at the Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre (north Leicester) on the River Soar. The Soar is flat with some good weirs. The group is often split in to two. A more experienced group will do a long tour with a few weirs and the less experienced members of the group will stay around the site or paddle a shorter distance.
All regular participants will be offered the chance to do their BCU Star Awards and the club encourage members to go on to the coaching awards, First aid and Canoe Safety awards.
The group is very welcoming so don't be shy, we were all new once. We always socialises after the session. There are hot drinks and snacks available.
The session starts at 7:30pm (best to arrive at around 7pm) and the session usually finishes at around 9pm - 9:30pm. The costs are £3 for members, £4 for non-members, and an extra £1 if you need to hire a boat. Membership is paid annually. With membership, discounts are available at a variety of local outdoor pursuits shops.

Tours & Weekends
We also take part in tours organised by the BCU and the club often organises tours to local rivers such as the Trent, Nene, Derwent and Dove. We also run weekends away in Wales on Whitewater rivers or surfing and of course the clubs annual camp to the River Wye on the August bank holiday and weekends at the Burrs centre.
Competitive Training
These sessions take place at the centre at the same time as the adult session but as a separate group. We cater for several disciplines including Marathon, Slalom and Wild Water Racing. All ages are welcome.
We currently have 2 club members competing at an International level and several at a national level. Jes Oughton, the head coach is also the GB Wild Water Racing Team Manager and is supported by other coaches in the club.
