Matlock Weekend - The Wharf Shed
Club members headed towards Matlock on the last weekend of October for a weekend of fun, paddling and improvement. It was our first stay at the Wharf Shed, which makes an ideal base for a weekend on the Derwent. The trip divided into three groups, one of which incorporated practising moving water skills into a river trip whilst there were also a group of advancing canoeists, and advancing kayakers enjoying the river around the car park waves and slalom course.
Congratulations to Anton & David Anton Magrath and David Robinson gained a first place in the 2009 Tyne Tour with a winning time of 1 Hour 21 Mins.
